Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Friday, 22 November 2019, Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Cooperation, Mr. Nasser Bourita, on the sidelines of the "Africa 2019 – Investment for Africa" Forum held in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting took place in the presence of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Cairo, Ahmed Tazi.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency said that President El-Sisi welcomed the Moroccan minister to Egypt, asking him to convey his greetings to his brother His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The President praised the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and affirmed Egypt's keenness to push the frameworks of bilateral cooperation forward at every level and to carry them to broader horizons, in keeping with the deep bonds of brotherhood between the two countries and their brotherly peoples.
For his part, Minister Nasser Bourita conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to President El-Sisi and handed him a written message from the King. The message expressed Morocco's pride in its close and distinguished relations with Egypt at both the official and grass-roots levels, and praised Egypt's achievements under President El-Sisi's leadership in the fields of security, stability and development, which restored its leading and effective role regionally and internationally. In his message, the King also stressed his interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation with Egypt and the importance of intensifying joint work to explore new horizons of cooperation in various fields.
The Spokesman added that the meeting reviewed developments in a number of regional issues of common interest, foremost among them the situation in Libya, with consensus on the importance of supporting Libya's institutions in combating terrorism, achieving security and stability, and safeguarding the country's territorial integrity.
The Moroccan Community Social League in Egypt follows with great pride this high level of brotherly relations between Rabat and Cairo, a solid foundation for the League's work in serving the Moroccan community and strengthening the bridges between the two brotherly peoples.
